Ulun Danu Temple

You can find Ulun Danu Temple on the edge of Baratan Lake in Bedugul. This is one of Bali’s most impressive temples, with a layered roof structure that will take your breath away. If you’re looking for a taste of eastern tranquillity and spiritualism, then you simply can’t miss Ulun Danu Temple. Baratan Lake itself is also worth going to in and of itself.

Dive in Padang Bai

Padang Bai on the east of Bali, is perhaps the best part of the island for scuba diving. The multiple dive sites situated off the coast are only a short boat ride away. The sea life here is incredible, making the muck diving in Padang Bai one of the best in the world. You can look around for octopus, turtles, coral gardens, and pygmy seahorses.

Tanah Lot

The Tanah Lot rock formation is home to the legendary Hindu temple Pura Tanah Lot. You’ll find it on the southwest of the island and it’s not to be missed if you are always on the lookout for new and interesting sights. This temple is an important pilgrimage site and it offers 360º views of the stunning coastline surrounding it.

Explore Sidemen

The area of Sidemen to the east of Bali is beloved by all who visit, but it isn’t as popular as some of the island’s big tourist spots, which means that many visitors simply don’t know to add it to their itineraries. This calm, verdant valley is packed with rice paddies, with tranquil green views as far as the eye can see. As you hike the area, you will even be treated to an elegant waterfall now and then!

Tegenungan Waterfall

Speaking of waterfalls, if these stunning natural water features fill you with awe, then you must add the awesome Tegenungan Waterfall to your itinerary. This epic waterfall is 15m high and the volume of water falling down is too powerful to stand under it. The majestic power of Tegenungan is to be appreciated from a distance, and there is quite a lot to appreciate, trust us!

Take a Cooking Class

There are various cooking classes available either in the town of Ubud or from Ubud to somewhere nearby. Balinese cuisine is Indonesian, but as an island it also has its own distinct twists on Indonesian food, with clear Chinese and Indian influences. It’s this combination of influences and Bali’s island isolation that has created an entirely distinct cuisine. Learning how to cook one or two Balinese dishes is rewarding (and delicious), but just imagine how impressed your friends and family are going to be when you come back and whip them up some authentic Betutu or Laklak!

Bingin Beach

Found on the Bukit Peninsula, right on the southernmost tip of Bali, Bingin Beach is absolutely worth the trek down the tall cliffs to get there! The beach has beautiful sand, clear waters, and even a couple of places you can grab food nearby after you’ve paddled in the water a little and chilled on the beach for a while. While there are many beaches in Bali worth exploring, Bingin Beach may just be our favourite.

That’s all we have time for today, but we really hope we’re helped you add at least one or two places or activities to your Bali bucket list. Direct Owners is extremely pleased and privileged to work with accommodation providers in Bali and we look forward to being part of the tourism industry of this unique and impressive island. We wish you a wonderful trip to Bali!
